Beautiful Austin, Texas welcomed all of us breast cancer survivors attending Young Survival Coalition Summit in March 2019. After a cold-sub-zero winter in Northern Ohio, I was more than ready to visit someplace warm and hang out with some breast cancer sisters who are dear to me.
Once a year, many of us travel from all over the United States and some from other countries for this very unique weekend conference for young breast cancer survivors where we bond as a sisterhood and talk about our journey. We talk about our treatments, long-term side effects and coping with our fears; and attend sessions on these issues too.
I always really enjoy seeing familiar faces and meeting new people too, just not enough time in one weekend to spend with everyone I meet, but I do treasure the small moments, conversations and the short visits we do get in.
